Sipwell contributes its bottle caps to ‘DE WARMSTE WEEK’

Want to end 2020 in beauty? Then you have to participate in ‘De Warmste Week’ with their heartwarming initiatives! At SipWell we are happy to be part of that initiative. This year we are supporting the bottle cap campaign for guide dogs. Because SipWell has bottle caps in abundance.

HOW DO BOTTLE CAPS HELP?

People with a visual impairment sometimes have to wait years in order to receive a guide dog. The bottle cap campaign of the Belgian Center for Guide Dogs (BCG) provides an accelerated procedure. An external recycling company buys the plastic bottle caps from BCG and processes them into sustainable pallets. You can see, the bottle cap campaign not only helps the environment but also raises money to provide the training of guide dogs.

85,000 KG BOTTLE CAPS = 1 GUIDE DOG

Did you know that one guide dog - from birth to retirement - will have a cost up to € 25,000? Quite the money. When you translate this into bottle caps, we need no less than 85,000 kg. The BCG can therefore use all the support it can get. For SipWell, the bottle cap campaign is therefore not a one-off action: we will continue to support this initiative in 2021.

WHAT ACTIONS DOES SIPWELL TAKE?

From now on, SipWell will be donating the bottle caps from our water bottles (10 L and 18.9 L) to the bottle cap action. The result will be a donation of approximately 1 million water bottle caps per year. With this initiative, we hope to be able to make a valuable contribution. In addition, we want to encourage our employees to be part of this promotion. For example, SipWell is as of today a new collection point where employees can donate all of their collected bottle caps in the provided bags.

Are you inspired to contribute your bottle caps to this wonderful initiative? Collect plastic bottle caps and donate them at the collection point in your area.
